What Anthropology of Religion? Understanding the Difference Confidence


The complexity of the human brain that accompanied the human imagination and interpretation of various natural phenomena ultimately manifested in the form of religion.
 Currently, there are a number of religions in the world, some beyond the boundaries of cultures and regions, while many of them just a local religion.
 Similarities and differences in world religions and their religious ties with institutions of different social is part of science called anthropology of religion.
 Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam are some religions that goes beyond local boundaries and practiced in many countries of the world.
 In addition, there are many other religions like Hindu, Chinese traditional religion, traditional African religions, Sikhism, Judaism, Baha'i faith, Zoroastrianism, Scientology, and much more.
Most religions are characterized by divinity, code of ethics, and a way of life that must follow certain regulations.

Understanding of Anthropology of Religion

A world of many religions, demanding an adherent awareness about the existence of other religions.
To maintain good relations among humans, it becomes important to develop a deeper understanding and respect for others.
Anthropology of religion offers a comparative study of religion based on what people think, believe, which is desirable in life, how to socialize with other people, and on how they feel about the situation.
A religion may affect various aspects of life such as sports, business, or politics.
Christianity or Islam, for example, has the basic characteristics that emphasize the human relationship with God.
But, there are other religions like Hinduism or Jainism that spans exceeding belief system.
Religion, according to these beliefs is the way to live in harmony, in accordance with the conceptual aspects of their religion.
There are features found in almost every religion such as prayer or meditation.
In various religions, prayers being said to god, gods, and goddesses for a number of reasons.
Although there are variations in how to pray and to whom the prayer being said, there are similarities in all these practices.
People pray for the health, well-being, asking for protection from natural disasters, or only for spiritual reasons as a compliment to the gods or God.
In addition to aspects of worship, there are also social aspects such as the establishment of a voluntary community, social gatherings, etc.
Anthropology of religion helps us to appreciate the similarities and differences of the different religions.
